Tom of Undercaffeinated lets some air out of an environmentalism sacred cow: recycling. Yeah, so that metaphor doesn't really work. It's probably best to keep the air inside sacred cows. But you know what I mean.
First,
Tom addresses the fact that for most products, recycling is not actually economical, despite environmentalists' frequent assertions to the contrary.
Then,
in a follow-up post, Tom argues that recycling for most products also doesn't have a significant impact on the environment either, which rather defeats the entire purpose of recycling.
