Lehrer and friends have Karl Rove in their booth. Hopefully he'll have something interesting to say--considering how much Democrats love to vilify this guy and blame him for literally everything that happens in the world if it meets the criterion of being beneficial to Bush.
They should put Karl in front of cameras more often. They guy's amusingly sarcastic. Asked if he'd ever dreamed about someday sitting here to try to get Bush elected to 4 more years, he responded, "No, but I have dreamed about having a chance to sit here with Mark Shields."
According to Rove, the message of the convention is that the Republican party is the party of optimism, opportunity, and (evidently) immigrants. Further, the convention is about extolling the virtues of the President and his accomplishments. In other news, the nomination is officially final--the nominee, shockingly, is George W. Bush.
Rove on Kerry's behavior regarding his war record, "You can't have it both ways and say, 'If you agree with me, applaud me, and if you disagree with me, then shut up.'"
Further point: agreeing with a 527 doesn't constitute coordinating with a 527--basically the criticism made of Rove. If that were the case then virtually every single member of Kerry's campaign would have to resign. In other news, George Soros is still a fucking tool.
