Syndicated talk show host and adopted son of Ronald Reagan, Michael Reagan takes the podium.
"I am truly the luckiest man in the world..." followed by a huge pro-life statement. His birth parents & adoptive parents were pro-life and pro-adoption. "I come here to honor my father, not to politicize his name. I'm here to introduce a video tribute..."
Again, this should go a long way towards quelling criticism that the Republicans haven't been showing their real image by parading around a bunch of moderates. It's nice that at the same time they manage to work it into an inoffensive tribute to Reagan.
Update: Quoting Reagan who was quoting Franklin, "God gave us life, and he gave us liberty at the same time." This followed by some beacon-of-freedom, defender of liberty, and city on a shining hill material. "He also believed that freedom is always only one generation away from extinction. Along with the privileges of freedom, we have the responsibility to defend it." I can't remember hearing the words "freedom" or "liberty" too many times at the DNC, if at all. It's been a major message at the RNC, another important distinction of what the Republican party stands for.
The video tribute to Ronald Reagan is playing now. Turn it on now if you want to watch.
