E-Mail Adventures, Part 2
A reader e-mailed me about his experiences being prior service trying to discuss military matters with people who weren't. He felt very strongly about a detachment our civilian population has from the military that protects it, and misconceptions derived from this detachment. The main problems he sees with having a conscripted army was with keeping them busy and affording them, both issues that I think would be making them part of the reserve component. Most of their time would still be their own, and they'd only be getting paid for when they were on duty, but they'd be trained and organized if they were actually needed.
Goe, cause morale problems go away with good leadership.
